The Log of an Alaskan Pioneer, 1901
Hoeppner tells of sailing to Alaska in 1901, construction of the Red Salmon Cannery Co. cannery on the Ugashik River, Bristol Bay region. He describes fishing, canneries in the area, people, and activity during the winter until the following fishing season.

Lennie Robert Thompson Photograph Collection, ca. 1938-1939
The collection contains photographs primarily of Dutch Harbor-Unalaska region. There are photographs of whale butchering, native Alaskans in Savoonga and Gambell on St. Lawrence Island. There are also photos of King Island, U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Shosco in Juneau, and a few postcards including one of the Post-Rogers airplane disaster. Thompson was probably in Alaska in 1938-1939.

The collection contains black and white photographs of adolescent students and student activities at the Eklutna Vocational School, where Paul Thompson taught during the late 1930’s. Most of the students are identified. The collection contains many scenic color slides of glaciers, totems, landscapes, mountain ranges in locations throughout Alaska – the Interior, South Central, the Aleutians, the Pribilof Islands, and Southeast. The slides begin at number 146.
