Scope and Contents This collection primarily contains letters from Lewis Lloyd while living in Shungnak, Alaska, to his nephew William Asquith in Sunderland, England, 1912-1936. In these letters Lewis and Ella Lloyd describe their activities, village life, and their adopted Eskimo child, Jennie Anauok(?). Scope and Contents Captain Lockert collected photographs and papers during the years he served the Alaska Marine Highway System, continuing his interest in Alaska maritime affairs until his death in 1990. The papers are mostly 10 scrapbooks from 1964-1978 and one box of miscellaneous papers and publications relating to his work. Log book of the Steamer Nenana, a sternwheeler, documenting scheduled service between Nenana on the Tanana River and Marshall on the Yukon River, seven to nine trips per season, from 1933 through 1935. Notes landings, soundings, stops and reasons, times arrived and departed, and wood yard stops, noting amount and owner of wood. 1939 entries cover trips 7-9 (Aug. 13 - Oct.1); 1949 entries calendar preparation of "301" and "401" barges (April 24 - May 11) at "R.R. City - Winter Quarters".
