Bound volume of names includes: Jefferson "Soapy" Smith and Joe Juneau; pasted in front is a letter from Chappell explaining his reason for undertaking the project and a Health Service report from 1934 with a study of mortality among the native races of Alaska and an Alaska Auditor report containing death data from 1937-1938.-- Mortality in the native races of the Territory of Alaska with special reference to tuberculosis by F.S. Fellows.

This collection of color prints is of Circle City, Circle Hot Springs, Fort Yukon, Fairbanks area, Juneau, Ketchikan, and Kotzebue. Most of the 1938-1939 photos were taken with a Wettini 35mm camera with a Schneider Xenon lens in Compur rapid shutter, using Kodachrome film.

Scope and Contents These card-mounted images record a trip taken in July and August of 1895 up the Inside Passage to Southeast Alaska communities including Ft. Wrangel, Ketchikan, Juneau and Sitka. The photographer is unknown and the name of the ship is unrecorded. Chief Annahootz's house in Sitka and Chief Kadashan’s house at Ft. Wrangel are depicted. The album contains a collection of views taken by various photographers including William Notman and Son, Montreal; A.B. Wilse; Seattle; H.A. Hale; C.R. Savage, Salt Lake; F.W. Carlyon; Frank La Roche, Seattle; Case and Draper, Alaska. Alaska views include Case and Draper photographs of Skagway, La Roche photographs of Peril Straits, Taku Inlet, Lynn Canal, Muir Glacier, Ketchikan, Fort Wrangell, Juneau, Killisnoo, and Sitka, and a Carlyon photograph of Fort Wrangell.

Scope and Contents

Views of Ruby, Pedro Creek, Dikeman, Fairbanks, Chena, Dome Creek, Flat, Iditarod, Kaltag, Long City, Fort Discovery City, and St. Michael. Subjects also include dog sled racing, riverboats and gold mining operations in Alaska. Basil Clemons took the most of the photographs; other photographers are unidentified.

Content Description The collection consists of 299 glass plate negatives created principally by David Waggoner. Another 883 prints are taken from photo albums kept by David and Mary Waggoner. The images depict people and communities in Southeast Alaska, particularly Klawock and Juneau. The collection also includes an album of 49 photographs relating to the 1929 U.S. Navy Alaska Aerial Survey Expedition, featuring aerial views of communities in Southeast Alaska. Scope and Contents The collection consists of 19 letters and 4 b&w photographs, ca. 1956-1959. The bulk of the letters were written by Edna Kelty of the Christian Girls Ranch in Fairbanks, Alaska, to Mrs. Lloyd E. (Lucy) Voss in Fillmore, New York. There are also letters from Mary Stalker and Sister Minnie.
