Bound volume of names includes: Jefferson "Soapy" Smith and Joe Juneau; pasted in front is a letter from Chappell explaining his reason for undertaking the project and a Health Service report from 1934 with a study of mortality among the native races of Alaska and an Alaska Auditor report containing death data from 1937-1938.-- Mortality in the native races of the Territory of Alaska with special reference to tuberculosis by F.S. Fellows.

This collection of color prints is of Circle City, Circle Hot Springs, Fort Yukon, Fairbanks area, Juneau, Ketchikan, and Kotzebue. Most of the 1938-1939 photos were taken with a Wettini 35mm camera with a Schneider Xenon lens in Compur rapid shutter, using Kodachrome film.
