Includes village files, speeches, committee publications, and a manuscript file of other committee reports and presentations not in the published material; village files are comprised of surveys, remote housing reports, correspondence, and other data maintained in separate files for each village.

Historical Note
In 1964 Executive Order no. 1182 established the Federal Field Committee for Development Planning in Alaska. This federal agency provided the basis for long-range economic and development planning. It also established cooperative and coordinated action with the government of the state of Alaska in the preparation and execution of resulting plans. The agency published 55 reports providing an in-depth analysis of Alaska's special problems with recommendations for economic growth and resource development. The Committee dissolved in June 1971.
