The W.J. Childs diary is a small black book with Northern Commercial Co. embossed on the front. In it he kept notes on daily activities and events for October and November of 1913. The diary also includes some names and addresses.

These materials were collected by Mark Whitman of Juneau, Alaska to aid in the creation of a stageplay script based on China Joe’s life. The collection contains the Legal documents filed by or for China Joe, one notebook of research pertaining to the life and death of China Joe, newspaper articles, and handwritten notes. Brett Dillingham of Juneau, Alaska also contributed.

Scope and Contents These papers include some writings of Kenneth Chisholm on his Alaska experiences, Alaska material collected by him including a census of King Island in 1938 and weather reports of the area; also copies of reports of Alaska and Siberian villages in 1937 by Lt. Commander R. C. Sarratt of the Revenue Cutter Northland.Letters received by Kenneth Chisholm from 1938 1939 are from his future wife, Lucile, and other letters document his efforts to locate employment....

The Chititu Creek Mining Camp photograph album contains photographs of a Chititu Creek placer mining camp, the placer workings and the people who lived and worked there. This looks to be a family photograph album as it also has photographs of unknown families, their homes and their horses. There are also photos of 3 ship captains: Captain J.S. Moore, Captain T.D. McFarland and Captain F.M Moore. There is also an impressive picture of a woman shooting a pistol.

The CWU of Juneau Collection consists of a scrapbook (1964-1990) and 45 folders (1949-1999) of institutional records as listed in the inventory below. Records include CWU Presidents files, bank statements, financial records and, in a scrapbook, clippings, programs, photographs and typescripts.

Scope and Contents Photographs taken by Mr. Churchill depict placer mining, hard rock gold mining and related activities in 1912, during the Klondike gold rush. Some images document mining engineering practices such as brush retaining walls on streams and thawing of frozen ground to accommodate dredging. This collection contains 39 photographs of the Juneau, Alaska, area. They include area scenes and photos of the family and friends of Harrold and Thelma Clark. Patti Clark Lazarich, daughter of Harrold and Thelma, wrote a short reminiscence of the Crowell family of Juneau, Alaska. There is one CD with some of the photos on it.
