The albums record the trip up the Taku River by canoe; Tlingit Indian villages, fish camps, and communities from Ketchikan to Skagway. The collection contains images of the expedition members as well as Taku Chief Annatlas, Tlingit Indian camp Hoochinoo No. 1, fish camps, Nakana River, Inklin River, Juneau churches and buildings, Ketchikan, Wrangell, and Skagway.

The holograph records are most likely the Yukon Territory’s 1901 census, salvaged from the S. S. ISLANDER after the steamer sank twelve miles south of Juneau on August 15, 1901. On one sheet the name of enumerator, Coutts, is visible. Parts of the records are illegible.

Lorain Roberts Zacharias collected photographs from several locations with views primarily of mining activities in Dawson and Chisana (also known as Shushana, Shushanna, or Qhisina), family views, and scenics. Photographers represented in the collection include Winter & Pond, Case & Draper, Wolfe, L.H. Smith, and J. Doody. The collection also contains a mining claim location notice, notes with penciled drawing from her husband, and other papers.
