David Yates, 1866-1953, was a hard rock miner in the Windham Bay area, married to Sylvia Yates who was postmistress at Windham Bay in the 1940’s.

The manuscript was donated to the Alaska State Museum by Wilma M. Trillingham in 1997. Transferred to Alaska Historical Collections.
