"St. Michael's Cathedral". An old Russian church in the center of Sitka and undoubtedly the most interesting relic of the Russian period in Alaska history. It was dedicated Nov. 20, 1848. Its priceless pictures and embroidered robes were brought over the long land and sea road from St. Petersburg.

"Klondike". The Klondike is the newest and most luxurious hotel in Skagway, the Goldrush Gateway City. Built in 1967, the Klondike is owned and operated by Westours, Inc., Alaska's largest travel organization. Skagway is the northern terminus of the Inside Passage run made by Westour's cruise ships, and the Alaska State Ferry System.

"Skagway, Alaska" is the terminal of the White Pass and Yukon Railway which has been running since 1898 between Skagway, Lake Bennett, and Whitehorse, Yukon. The Golden North Hotel on Main Street is seen on the right and the beautiful Chilkoot Mountains in the distance.
