A panel of fibrous glass insulation is installed on an above ground section of the trans Alaska pipeline, abouit 90 miles north of Valdez. The 15 feet by 24 feet insulation panels are handled by a specially designed “manipulator” which uses suction cups to lift the panel, and then wraps the panel around the pipe., 1974 - 1977
