Content Description
Contains photographs, aerial photographs, negatives and slides of housing and housing construction activities in various communities and villages, construction workers, and residents. Black and white as well as color images are included. Some of the homes and people are identified. ASHA slideshow with script shows the changes to Alaska rural life, various impacts on Alaska rural living and the need for planning (1970).

Biographical / Historical
The Alaska State Housing Authority has responsibility under Alaska statutes for housing construction projects for the elderly, urban renewal activity, and serve as a financing agent for various public buildings. In 1992, the Legislature merged the Alaska State Housing Authority into Alaska Housing Finance Corporation.
