Biographical / Historical
Born in Brookhaven, N.Y., E.B. Barteau came north when he was 18 and spent his life on the Pacific Coast between Seattle, Vancouver, B.C., Whitehorse, Y.T. and Tanana, Alaska. He became superintendent of the River Division of the White Pass & Yukon Railroad. Upon his retirement from the railroad in 1951, he moved to White, Rock, B.C., where he lived until his death on August 16, 1966.
