Biographical
Maria Brower Ahgeak is the second oldest daughter of Charles and Mary Asianggataq Brower. Most of the Brower children were educated outside of Alaska, however, Maria stayed in Barrow and cared for her mother and family. Maria married Joseph Ahgeak and resides in Barrow. Upon the death of her mother, Maria inherited most of the family possessions. Maria's daughter, Edna MacLean arranged for the Alaska Historical Library to copy these photographs which serve as a sampling of the Maria Brower Ahgeak collection.
