 Item — Box: PCA0465

Scope and Contents

To reach the pinnacle, this club had to take care of 16 other clubs entered in the Sitka City League. Other top teams were Army Artillery Battery B; Army Artillery Battery D; Army Battery Headquarters; Army Post Headquarters; U. S. Marines; U. S. Coast Guarad and Army Camp Riley. Holt's Mens' Store; Sitka ANB; Sheldon Jackson School and Sitka High School were the only civilian teams in the league. Bob "Berger" Eggeberger (10) and Francis X "Frank" Duffy were two of the finest to perform in Sitka. Six regulars of the 1944 team were absent when this photo was taken.
