Captain John Gus Nord Ship Logs, 1904-1917, 1939
The majority of this collection is comprised of log books and track books which contain magnetic headings lists. The ships which Captain Nord commanded that are represented in this collection are the Jefferson, the Alaska, and the Aleutian.
There is one folder of sleeved photographs and two folders of news clippings and correspondence mostly relating to Captain Nord’s loss of the Aleutian, and later his death.
Northern Commercial Company Correspondence, 1903-1904
The collection consists of typescript copies of Northern Commercial Company’s correspondence from Eagle, Alaska, from 1903 to 1904, and a photocopy of the firm’s telegraphic code.
