Grace Fox Carr Letters and Photograph Collection, 1914
Scope and Contents
This collection contains photocopies of letters written by Mrs. Carr to her brother Ernst and his wife Genevieve Fox and to other family members living in New York. The letters primarily celebrate the birth of their daughter, Wilhelmina, who was born July 1914 in Haines, Alaska. The photocopied photographs are of the Carr family while living in Haines and Porcupine, Alaska, in 1914. Included is a photocopied steamship menu from the S.S. Humboldt.

Biographical
Mrs. Grace Fox Carr and her husband William lived in Porcupine, Alaska, near Haines, in 1914. At this time William Carr was working as a storekeeper for a gold mine in Porcupine.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
This collection was donated in 1976 by Wilhelmina C. Rudolph, Grace Fox Carr’s daughter, to the Sheldon Jackson Museum. It was later transferred from the Museum to the Alaska State Library Historical Collections. The collection does not have an accession number.
