Records of the International Longshoremen's and Warehousemen's Union, Local 200/16, Juneau, 1937-1984
Scope and Contents
The records are largely from the 1940's documenting personnel, work activity and work agreements of the early years of the union in Alaska. The records include the Constitution and Bylaws of Local 16 in 1942 as well as copies of the national union affiliated with the C.I.O. There are limited files of minutes of meetings, correspondence, work agreements in Alaska and on the Pacific Coast. Other records include dues receipts for union members, copies of checks, audit reports (receipts and disbursements) for 1957 1967, miscellaneous publications and longshoremen time slips.

Historical
I.L.W.U. Local 16 1, Juneau, was founded in 1937. In 1982 the union ports merged into one Local called Local 200/16 in Juneau. These records are selective files preserved from the original union hall building that was first moved from Willoughby Avenue and later demolished in June 1984.
