Biographical
Dr. Field served as head of the Dept. of Exploration and Research of the American Geographical Society from 1945 until his retirement in 1969. He studied Glacier Bay since 1926, and also worked in Prince William Sound. In 1983 he participated in the Glacier Bay Symposium for which he compiled information on the scientists and research in Glacier Bay. He has kindly agreed to share this information and assist the library in providing basic material on Alaska glaciology.
