Alaska Airlines Audio Visual Collection, 1940s to 1980s
Scope and Contents
Materials were appraised for appropriate and useful Alaskan content, and selected accordingly. Selected films are stock footage and short films of various Alaskan locations, including both color and black and white film, some silent and some with sound. Also includes Alaska Airlines advertising posters and proof sheets of advertising materials.

The collection was borrowed from Alaska Air Lines for copying.
Processing Information
Item numbers follow Alaska Airlines original numbering. Materials were appraised for appropriate and useful Alaskan content, and selected accordingly. Selected 16mm film was cleaned, inspected and repaired as needed, and converted to analog video using a Tobin Telecine. The video was then converted to digital format (.avi). Analog and digital versions were recorded for preservation on Beta-SP tape, DVCAM tape, and DVD.
