Indian Songs of Alaska (Southeast), 1922.
Indian Songs of Alaska is a collection of Tlingit music written down by Carol Beery Davis. Rev. Andrew P. Kashevaroff collected the English and Tlingit lyrics. The notebook containing the songs is dated 1922.
Descriptive Booklet Alaska Historical Museum, published by the Alaska Historical Association, undated, was inscribed by Father Kashevaroff to Mrs. Trevor (Carol Beery) Davis in thanks for her work on this project.

Biographical
Carol Beery Davis was a Juneau musician and composer who listened to and wrote the music for the music of the Tlingit Indians. A more complete biography is found in Ms 182, the Carol Beery Davis Family Collection.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The manuscript was received in the Alaska State Library pre-accession register. It was probably donated by Andrew Kashevaroff who wrote the words to the music. Descriptive Booklet Alaska Historical Museum, with inscription from Father Kashevaroff to Mrs. Davis, was donated by the Friends of the Juneau Public Library. Accession number: 2023-006.
