Historical

The Daughters of Rebekah, Perseverance Lodge 2 A, began in Juneau, Alaska, in 1906, when a petition signed by Alice Laughlin, E. T. Burton, Charles W. Carter, Alphonsine Carter, Oliver Drange, L. O. Sloane, Mabel Bean, and Maud Hile was sent to W. H. McBlain, District Grand Sire, Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The Perseverance Lodge of the Daughters of Rebekah disbanded in 1986, a year after the Juneau I.O.O.F. was discontinued. The history of the Northern Lights Lodge 1 A is less known, but it was active during the 1930's.

The Daughters of Rebekah was a social and charitable organization which, along with the brotherhood of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, worked on many Juneau and Alaska projects.
