The photographs were taken in 1964, when many of the houses and commercial buildings were deteriorating. Includes buildings, bridges and activities in McCarthy, Alaska., 1964. Views of the Golden Bar and O'Neills Store, Edwards’ family and activities.

Biographical / Historical
McCarthy was a mining camp 150 miles northeast of Cordova, established in 1908 when the copper mines were operating at nearby Kennecott [Kennicott]. James Edwards and his wife, Maxine, lived in the area.
