Fifteen notebooks containing diary entries and clippings relating to daily life in Juneau between May 16, 1942 and July 7, 1944. Four scrapbooks containing correspondence, special orders and memoranda, clippings and ephemera.
Contains commendation to Colonel Riegle, signed by Frank Pace, Secretary of the Army.

Roy W. Riegle was Post Commander and Commanding Officer of U.S. Troops, Juneau, from May 16, 1942, to December 11, 1943.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
Collection was donated by Mary Keith and Arliss Burns, through Jim Ruotsala. Diaries #10 through 13, along with the citation to Colonial Riegle, were donated in June 2008. Diaries 14 and 15, along with the scrapbooks, were donated in November 2010.
