INTRODUCTION
These records of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service were maintained by the U.S. National Marine Fisheries Auke Bay Lab, Juneau until March 1985 when they were transferred to the Alaska Historical Library. The records originated in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Afognak Kodiak District office. The files largely document the activities of the district office during the 1920's with some records continuing into the 1950's. The records include one box of correspondence files and one box of reports. A selection of 48 photographs showing the operation of weirs for counting salmon, government personnel views of Larsen Bay, Karluk Lake, Bare Lake and Olga Bay cannery are filed with photograph collections (PCA 186).
