Scope and Contents
The records include telegrams sent and received; also weather reports kept by Joseph T. Bauer (a former member of the U.S. Army Signal Corp.) who operated the station supported by contracts with the mining companies on Chichagof Island.
Major correspondence for the Chichagof Gold Mining Company, Chichagof, Alaska, was addressed to Nick Bez (company official outside Alaska), Arthur Rust, and James L. Freeman (official in charge at the mining camp).
Major correspondence for the Hirst-Chichagof Gold Mining Company, Radioville, Alaska, was addressed to Lew G. Kay (company official outside Alaska), and D. J. Williams (official in charge at the mining camp).
