Scope and Contents
Series 1 includes primarily Nancy Ricketts’ papers related to her work at the Sheldon Jackson College’s Stratton Library. The collection also includes papers retrieved from the desk files of Evelyn Bonner, who held the position of Head Librarian and then Director of Library Services at Sheldon Jackson College’s Stratton Library.
Series 2 contains: material about her father, Ed Ricketts; her work as librarian and archivist at Stratton Library, Sheldon Jackson College; her writings and related materials.

Biographical Note
Nancy Ricketts has worked in or helped with every archive in Sitka, Alaska, in some way. She worked as a librarian for the Sheldon Jackson College’s Stratton Library and during her time there, organized the archives. She was also a member of the Sitka Historical Society for many years and edited their newsletter for 10 years, as well as helped with several collections projects. Nancy organized and for many years maintained the archives of the Episcopal Church, St. Peter's by the Sea. She authored A Brief History of St. Peter’s-By-the-Sea. In 2020 she published her memoir ‘Becoming Myself’ the story of a turbulent youth in the shadow of Steinbeck.
