The history, beginning with primitive Alaska Eskimo life, includes some “book” facts, personal anecdotes, and stories told by others. It describes life in the northern regions from early times until ca. 1940 when the history was written down.

Biographical
The Eskimo history was told by Michael Francis Kazingnuk. He probably lived in the Diomede Islands in the 1930’s and 1940’s, possibly earlier. The identity of the writer is not known.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The Alaska State Library received the Eskimo history from R.N. DeArmond, May 5, 1980. The documents were found in a cabin and sent to Northwest Publishing who chose not to publish them.
