Historical Note

Robinson Studio was an Anchorage photography studio, ca. 1947-1958. They photographed in the Southeast, Interior, and Southcentral areas. Their advertisement in the May 1948 Anchorage Territorial Telephone Book says “Everything in Fine Photography. Aerials – Motion Pictures, Weddings – Advertising, Alaska Scenics. Assignments Taken Anywhere Anytime.” The studio also produced real photo postcards such as the ones in this collection.

Empty sleeves with information related to photographs.

Processing Information

Photographs were placed in archival box, retaining original envelopes. The photographs were removed from their original envelopes and placed in archival sleeves. The photographs were numbered 1-160 rather than using the photographer’s number as the identifier. The photographer’s number was placed in parentheses at the end of the description. The original envelopes were retained and placed in a cabinet in the vault.
