President Harding’s Trip to Alaska, 1923
Scope and Contents
The photographs were taken for the New York Times’ coverage of President Warren Harding’s “Voyage of Understanding” to the Far North in late July and early August of 1923. They include his arrival in Ketchikan, in Juneau, Metlakatla, Skagway, Seward, Cantwell, and Valdez. Governor Bone's daughter Marguerite Bone Wilcox donated a collection of photographs also of President Harding's trip to Alaska, PCA 70.
