Biographical
William Ansley, Sr. and his son owned Landahl’s Emporium, a book and stationery store in Iditarod, Alaska, which was next to the Iditarod Post Office. One or both of these men were interested in photography and took these photographs which are on post-card marked print paper.

Acquisition
The photographs were donated by Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Adams, of Sinking Spring, Pa., in 1976 and 1981. Mrs. Adams, who corresponded with William Ansley, Jr. when she was a young girl, received the photographs from him in 1914. Acc. # 1976-005.
