SCOPE AND CONTENTS
Locations include towns and villages on the Kenai Peninsula, Kodiak, Interior Alaska, Southeast Alaska. Subjects are many and varied and include airplanes, float planes, Alaska Natives, ships, glaciers, fishing, mining and wildlife. Many of the photo postcards are captioned and/or are inscribed on the versos.

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Sam Kelsey and Luella (or Louella) Kelsey McMullen lived in Treadwell, Alaska, during the mining heyday of the early 1900’s. Mrs. McMullen was the sister to Sam and taught at the Treadwell school for several years before moving to Seward where she married her husband, Mr. Paul McMullen, and taught school. These photographs are from the Kelsey family and were donated by Mrs. Mary Fleek of Ferndale, California.

ACQUISITION NOTE
Donated in 1988 by Mary Kelsey of Ferndale, California. The photos are from the Kelsey family and were donated by Mary Fleek. Acc. No. 1988-050. Numbers 348-397 (Miscellaneous Alaska scenics and people) were added in May 1995 to Acc. No. 1988-050. Numbers 408-412 donated November 18, 2010 by Mary Kelsey.
