Biographical
Mr. Sherwood came to Juneau in 1940 from Eagle Rock, California. He purchased a dairy farm in the Mendenhall Valley from Mrs. Jensine Pederson who operated the Pederson Dairy. Mr. Sherwood, his wife, Gladys and their children moved into the log and frame farmhouse. Mr. Sherwood was born in Capitola, California in 1896 and was a graduate of Oregon Agricultural College (now Oregon State University) with a Bachelor of Science degree.
He organized and helped incorporate the Glacier Highway Electric Association in Auke Bay and served as the association's president for the first years. Later he served a short time as the temporary manager of G.H.E.A.

Acquisition
Curtis H. Sherwood donated personal papers and stereopticon slides (PCA 150) of the Juneau area to the Alaska State Library in the Fall of 1979, Acc. #1979-28. Item #13 was added in January 2003, Acc. # 2003-3.
Processing Information
Items are inventoried and fragile documents housed in mylar.
