Content Description
Collection consists of 24 black and white photos of Eskimo National Guard members and construction of armories in the following Alaska villages: Alakanuk, Arctic Village, Hooper Bay, Koyuk, Noorvik, Shaktoolik, Shishmaref, St. Michael, Teller, Unalakleet. Members of the U.S. Army Engineer District, Alaska, Western Alaska Residency assisted members of the Alaska Eskimo Scouts Battalion in constructing 48 prefabricated metal buildings, which would serve as armories in remote northern Alaska villages. Includes armory bid notices and news releases issued by the U.S. Army Engineer District, Alaska.

Processing Information
Armory bid notices and news releases were placed in Mylar and then into an acid free folder. The collection was placed in an archival box.
