Scope and Contents
The photo postcards were collected by Stanley Erickson while he worked for the Alaska Steamship Co. from the 1920’s to the 1950’s. Photos include: Cordova, Mount Eccles, Juneau, Petersburg, Wrangell, the Northwestern, Nome, dogs, reindeer, Eskimos, and Siberian natives. Most were taken in the early part of the 20th century from 1915-1930.

Biographical / Historical
Stanley M. Erickson was born Oct. 2, 1894. He was chief engineer for the Alaska Steamship Co. and sailed the waters of Alaska from the 1920's to the 1950's. Some of the ships he worked on were the Baranof, the Dellwood, and Curacao. Erickson died March 5, 1962.
