Sitka, Alaska, Oct. 18, 1975 – Over 200 soldiers and civilians from Forts Richardson, Wainwright and Lewis, crowd the stage in the Sitka Centennial Building, for the grand finale of the Brigade’s colorful historical Bicentennial pageant. In 1975, the Alaskan 172nd Infantry Brigade in Anchorage commemorated the U.S. bicentennial. These photographs depict historical events from the Revolutionary War to the Vietnam War which were dramatized and narrated in the pageant., and the soldiers’ uniforms change according to the timeframe of each scene.
