Scope and Contents
no. 7310. Per Steve Henrikson, Curator, Alaska State Museum 2/1996: 30. Tlingit houses and totem poles at Wrangell. Three totem poles in front of a row of Tlingit houses. The pole at left is unidentified, and seems to have the following figures (top to bottom): killer whale (orca), seated humanoid, bird of prey (hawk?), humanoid bear, and a squat face or "stump" figure. The poles at center and right, which feature single carved figures of birds at the top, are probably mortuary poles that may contain human remains.
